    Job Summary:

    This growth-oriented position is an opportunity for a talented lawyer to transition to an impactful, business-oriented in-house legal role in the medical device industry. Serving as critical member of a collaborative and dynamic legal team, the Assistant Counsel will review, negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales agreements, supply agreements, services agreements, distribution agreements (domestic and international), clinical trial agreements, technology license agreements, software license agreements and SaaS agreements.  Helping to drive sales acceleration and speed new products to market, the Assistant Counsel will collaborate with internal clients in all functional areas, including R&D, sales, marketing, procurement and clinical affairs.  In addition, the Assistant Counsel will counsel internal clients on compliance issues and relevant developments in the law.  Success in the position may result in expansion of the role as ZOLL continues to grow.


    This position is located in ZOLL’s corporate offices in Chelmsford, MA.


    • Review, negotiate, and draft a variety of commercial agreements
    • Draft, review, manage and maintain the division’s contract templates and provide related internal training
    • Work closely with internal teams to establish relationships and deliver consistent, practical legal guidance and support.
    • In conjunction with the other departments, review and advise as to company policies
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate General Counsel


    • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, respond to and draft legal documents
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Communicates clearly and frequently; actively listens
    • Seeks to understand business issues and deliver pragmatic, impactful advice
    • Self-motivated, highly responsive, team player with the ability to drive projects, identify and resolve issues, and earn the confidence of business leaders
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
    • Solid business judgment with a record of strategic thinking
    • Strong computer skills required
    • Life sciences industry experience is desirable
    • 3-5 years of law firm (or law firm plus in-house) experience
    • Membership in good standing in at least one state bar



    • Strong academic credentials; J.D. from an accredited institution
