Job Summary:

Based on priorities set by the Program Director, the Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer provides solutions to sustaining design issues for medical devices and implements these solutions with cross functional teams in accordance to ZOLL Quality Systems.  As an integral development team member, the Senior Project Engineer will be an active participant in product and subsystem updates primarily driven by production needs, EOL components or need to address product updates.


  • Leads self and others to maintain high quality product design
  • Hands-on, high level electrical design implementation
  • Experience with control system design
  • Updates and reviews electrical design plans and requirements
  • Manage update of architecture, mechanical level, board level and component level documentation
  • Works with outside vendors a required to specify, develop and coordinate electrical design and development effort
  • Reports own progress towards performance and schedule objective
  • Work with validation and verification teams to evaluate and test products
  • Mentors, guides and supports less experienced test engineers
  • Conduct investigations of product failures
  • Employ excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with all levels of personnel and management
  • Prepare and/or manage the preparation of all required project documentation
  • Facilitate and coordinate project team meetings and management presentations as required


  • Analytical and troubleshooting skill
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and affinity for teamwork, logic, innovation, initiative and self-sufficiency
  • Preferred experience with Team Foundation Serve or other requirements management package
  • Experience with electrical engineering tools
  • Experience in pneumatic systems a plus
  • Experience with medical device regulatory requirements



  • 7+ years of experience as an engineer involved in the design, development, and testing of products, preferably in the medical device industry
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical) , MS Degree preferred
