The Principal Scientist is responsible for planning, managing, analyzing, and presenting
results of pre-clinical and clinical experiments and studies in a largely self-directed
manner. The Principal Scientist will serve as a mentor to Research Scientists and will
assist the Vice President of Clinical & Scientific Affairs in the supervision of Research
Scientists’ work. The Principal Scientist will also be a key participant on clinical trial
development teams. The individual will establish and maintain relationships with KOL's
and serve as key liaison to them. The position will also support other departments within
the company with scientific support and clinical education as needed. The Principal
Scientist reports to the Vice President of Clinical & Scientific Affairs


Design of experiments and studies
• Identify potential study sites and establish relationships
• Develop protocols and IACUC submissions
• Mentor and supervise Research Scientists
• Train site staff, monitor study progress and cost, Collect data, analyze results,
and produce reports
• Prepare abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts and present research at
scientific meetings and to customers
• Participate in clinical development teams
• Maintain KOL relationships


Skill Requirements:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through
presentations and publications
• Demonstrated skills in the statistical analysis and presentation of experimental
• Demonstrated understanding of human physiology, cardiac electrophysiology,
defibrillation therapy, medical devices, and EMS
Required/ Preferred Education and Experience:
• PhD in a biomedical field
• 6+ years' experience in the design and implementation of clinical/pre-clinical
• Experience in the design and implementation of pre-clinical resuscitation studies
strongly preferred
