The Test Technician Lead is a senior level engineering technician person who will take on projects in addition to supervisory responsibilities. He / She plans, coordinates and directs all Lab activities, providing leadership to the technicians assigned to the Test Development department. Typical hands-on duties include troubleshooting, assembly, parts procurement, and documentation of production test fixtures and equipment. Duties also include the performance of validation of test systems in support of ZOLL’s regulatory requirements.


The Test Technician Lead receives tasks from either the Test Development Manager, or Test Development Engineers, assigns these tasks to technicians, and drives them to completion.

  • Demonstrated leadership / supervisory experience
  • Troubleshooting of analog, digital and high voltage circuits. Includes computer-based systems.
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills, to include the reading and interpretation of schematics and mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes, assembly and electronics test technology.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a production test and an electro-mechanical assembly environment including ICT, Functional Test and Reliability Test (ESS, HASS).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Operations engineering & production personnel, as well as R&D engineering personnel
  • Proficient in most common PC based applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Understanding of software troubleshooting tools available in LabView and TestStand, a plus.
  • Familiarity with FDA QSR documentation a plus.
  • Certification in IPC soldering techniques a plus. 

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a technical school diploma, ASEE preferred.
