We have an immediate opening for an Associate Sales Engineer responsible for supporting the North American EMS and Hospital Sales force through utilization of their product knowledge, technical ability, and sales experience. Associate Sales Engineers (ASE) are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. Additionally, the ASEs are heavily involved in post-sale implementation and project management. The successful ASE must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business, technical, and non-technical users. They must also be able to identify and resolve any technical challenges throughout all stages of the sales process to achieve high customer satisfaction.

 

 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a background in the healthcare and information technology industries. Additionally, sales and or training experience is desired. They will be self-motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills, able to forge and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike. Organized and analytical, the successful candidate will be able to overcome sales obstacles and resolve technical challenges through creative and adaptive approaches. They must also be prepared for extensive travel.

  • Provide pre and post-sale implementation services, including project management, product deployment, and end user training
  • Provide pre sales technical support as required.
  • Provide training and technical support for sales force as required.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of product demonstrations with respect to data and communications.
  • Responsible for representing the product to customers at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Provide feedback to marketing and sales management in order to assist in the further development of product suites and associated hardware.
  • Respond to functional and technical requirements of RFPs.
  • Technical support and maintenance of sales demo equipment.

Qualifications

  •  0 – 2+ years of experience; new graduates must have Internship, Co-op or related work experience
  • Technical Aptitude/Knowledge
    • Working/ practical knowledge of networks, switches, firewalls and routers.
    • Knowledge of MSSQL Server, MS Operating Systems and components.  The ability to navigate through a Windows desktop and server operating system is a core component of this role. This includes a firm understanding of the components the OS is predicated upon, such as the registry, drivers, services, etc.
    • Knowledge of cellular networks, GSM/CDMA, 3G, 4G LTE, and the wireless technologies that facilitate connectivity such as, Bluetooth and 802.11.
    • Working knowledge of Enterprise 802.11. Certificate based authentication, encryption and transmission.
    • Strong technical troubleshooting skills. 
  • Sales Experience
    • Prior experience with software and/or capital equipment sales preferred.
    • Familiar with complex sales environments involving many stakeholders preferred.
    • Effective presentation skills, possessing the ability to communicate effectively with customers possessing all levels of technical understanding, from experienced IT to end users with limited understanding technology.      
  • Industry Experience/Knowledge
    • Clinical experience or background/knowledge of EMS and hospital environments preferred. 
  • Additional requirements
    • Self-motivated and directed
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to travel at least 80% (Travel – anywhere within North America)
      • Must have, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Passport for travel into Canada
    • Ability to lift 30 – 40lbs regularly 

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science disciplines or equivalent industry experience
  • Microsoft certifications in the following areas are desired:
    • MCSA- Server and/or Database, CWSP, CWNA, CWT
